Having studied in Germany on a scholarship from the German Government during his university years, Engin Enes Can graduated with high honours from Bilkent University’s Faculty of Law and Department of International Relations in 2019. After graduation he was awarded the Jean Monnet Scholarship administered by the European Union and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs; deciding, however, to pursue a career as an attorney, he began his traineeship the same year. During his traineeship at an international law firm and the years of practice that followed, he advised local and foreign companies across a range of sectors and gained experience in niche areas in which attorneys are not usually directly engaged, including collective labour-agreement negotiations.

In the following years he took up the role of legal counsel within an international group of companies operating in the energy and raw-materials sector, taking an active part in the group’s contract, compliance, human-resources and finance processes. From complex international contracts in the energy sector through to international arbitration proceedings, he served as legal counsel on a variety of transnational legal matters. During the same period he served as director of a Hong Kong-based company, through which he gained first-hand experience of commercial life and developed the instinct to approach legal matters from a commercial perspective.

Now providing litigation, advisory and negotiation services to clients at CAN ÖRNEK, Engin Enes Can is an active member of the Anatolia DAAD Scholars Association and the Translators Without Borders civil-society organisation.

Raised in a family shaped by a long tradition of legal practice, Dilara Örnek continued that tradition by graduating from Okan University Faculty of Law in 2018. That same year she began her legal traineeship at an internationally active law firm and went on to build her professional career within the same organisation.

Throughout her career she has followed proceedings arising from a wide range of disputes involving local and international companies across various sectors, managing an extensive portfolio of cases simultaneously. In this capacity she has played an active role in following clients’ litigation, managing case strategy, client relations, mediation proceedings and the enforcement proceedings conducted after judgment.

Having also led a large team during her time as a senior attorney, Dilara Yangıncı Örnek brought the professional experience gained over the years to CAN ÖRNEK, and currently manages her clients’ mediation, litigation and enforcement matters.

Alongside her professional work, she is engaged in painting and is among the founders of an atelier active in the field.
